About  Cast Stone for Fireplaces.

Wohners can provide your project with a selection of cast stone mantels as well as facings, hearths and fillers. There are a variety of mixtures and chemicals that they are made of. Basically there are 2  elements to any cast stone mixture; the aggregate and the binder.

The aggregate could be ground natural stone, plaster, concrete, etc. The binder is the glue that keeps it together, which could be resin, plasticizers, cement etc. Not all cast stone mantels are suitable for the heat from fireplaces as they may smell or disform when heated.  Please contact our office to arrange a showroom visit or to inquire about designs.

Most cast stone mantels are thin cast, meaning they are hollow inside.

About Facings, Fillers and Hearths

Wohners can provide matching interior panels, hearth slabs and fillers tor our mantels. Most common stones are readily available in pre-cut dimensions or you can have custom sizes and edges fabricated.
